Aricent middleware is a framework that tracts the multimedia engines from applications. An example benefit of using our middleware is that, an application that invokes a video and an audio player simultaneously can remain blissfully unaware of the resource partitioning (memory, MIPS) between the two decoders. Changes to media engines, say H.263 to MPEG-4, can be made seamlessly without affecting the applications.

Aricent also provides multimedia applications that utilize our engines to address customers' requirements for capture, playback, streaming and messaging.
