Aricent Demonstrates Mobile Multimedia for TI’s OMAP2430
Aricent introduces HipMedia™ Suite of mobile applications for the latest TI OMAP™ 2 application processor

- Aricent today announced the first public demonstration of the Aricent HipMedia™ Suite for the Texas Instruments Incorporated’s (TI’s) OMAP2430 application processor. HipMedia Suite provides a full range of multimedia applications for 3G phones based on the latest addition to the TI OMAP™ 2 family of application processors.
The Aricent HipMedia Suite for OMAP2430 is targeted at 3G mobile phones and handheld devices, allowing downloadable media streaming and playback, digital video recording, still image capture, video teleconferencing and mobile digital TV. The Aricent HipMedia Suite provides applications which offer consumers a full mobile multimedia experience with support for the latest media formats such as H.264, MPEG-4, Microsoft Windows Video and Audio and eAAC+. Additionally, Aricent has the expertise to customize the applications to meet the brand requirements of handset manufacturers and network operators.
